11th-22nd of October 2021

This month STREAM was invited to attend the BIM Innovation Studio at the RDI Hub in Killorglin. Projects and companies in the Aquaculture industry attended an intensive two-week programme organised by the global Accelerator HATCH. An Aquatech Community Day was also held during this year’s Innovation Studio with the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Charlie McConalogue T.D. giving the opening address.

The objective of BIM’s Innovation Studios is to create a dynamic environment for start-ups with new ideas for aquatech where they can innovate, experiment and test their ideas with leading experts from backgrounds in aquaculture, finance and marketing.

STREAM was recognised as holding an important place in the Aquaculture technology environment and has an important role to play in increasing the valuable data we can gather from the aquatic environment.

STREAM’s Marine Environmental Scientist, Hugh O’Sullivan attended the event and benefited from networking with other members of the Aquaculture community as well learning about the challenges of the industry and how best to develop technologies to address these issues.
