In collaboration with Wexford County Council, the STREAM project has installed a state of the art water quality sensor system in Wexford Harbour. These sensors will provide valuable information on the environment and help us better understand the impacts of climate change on coastal communities. By monitoring the seawater in real-time (every 15-minutes), we can better understand the water chemistry processes in the harbour.

Members of the STREAM project from Waterford Institute of Technology and technicians from Lab Unlimited undertook the installation. Senior Executive Scientist for Wexford County Council Brendan Cooney and his colleagues had prepared a high-quality standpipe system for both a YSI EXO 2 Sonde and a TriOS OPUS Spectrometer. STREAM is very grateful to Wexford County Council for providing this site, an excellent resource for monitoring our water quality and any climate change impacts.

The STREAM project is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund under the Ireland Wales project.
