Water is something that we all take for granted on a daily basis that’s why today, World Water Day we remember that water is the most precious resource crucial to the existence of life on earth. To mark this occasion the United Nations has published a report entitled “Valuing Water

The Director-General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay had this to say “Water is our most precious resource, a ‘blue gold’ to which more than 2 billion people do not have direct access. It is not only essential for survival, but also plays a sanitary, social and cultural role at the heart of human societies,”

The STREAM project is developing and deploying state of the art sensors around the coastlines of Ireland and Wales with the aim of gathering data to understand the threats these water bodies face from climate change. Follow updates from the project here and on Twitter using the handle @irlwal.
