The STREAM project in collaboration with Bord Iascaigh Mhara has deployed a Gill Instruments MetPak Pro weather station in Castletownbere. This station along with a multiparameter Sonde measuring water quality will provide the area with a detailed picture of the meteorological and environmental parameters taking place and will help understand the impacts of climate change on fisheries, aquaculture and the general ecology of the marine environment.

The STREAM team deployed the weather station on top of the BIM fisheries college building where it will provide valuable meteorological data and help to educate both members of the BIM training college and pupils from the local schools in the area.
