Dr Browne is responsible for the coordination of the STREAM project. He has over 30 years of experience in marine science in Ireland having worked in the Private sector, Research and Government. He brings a vast amount of knowledge to the project particularly in the area of environmental sampling and aquaculture.

Dr Abedini is a postdoctoral researcher on the STREAM project. She has completed her PhD in Medical Nanotechnology at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran. Mitra’s research interests include Nanobiosensors, Fiber optic SPR sensor fabrication, computational modelling, Optical system arrangement, and Scanning Probe Microscopy. Mitra is currently working on the development of new novel sensors for monitoring toxins in the marine environment.

Benyuan Yu completed his BEng degree in Electrical Engineering at Shanghai Maritime University and MEng degree in Electronics Engineering at WIT. Benyuan then worked on PhD research, studying the Optical Micro-Electro-Mechanical Spectrometer development and application in dairy science, food safety and marine science.

Jerry is the Infrastructure Manager at Walton Institute with responsibility for the Data Centre, Network, Servers and the Infrastructure Group. He is also the Senior Systems Engineer for the Walton Institute and has designed the infrastructural architectures for many of the Walton Institute spin-out companies.

The Welsh Centre for Printing and Coating (WCPC) offers state of the art laboratories at Swansea University’s Bay campus, that are dedicated to the fabrication of the sensor technologies required by the STREAM operation. The WCPC is a university recognised research centre that has a strong track record in undertaking fundamental and applied research in printing, including graphics and functional materials. It is recognised Internationally and is seen as a World leader in this field.

Centre for Sustainable Aquatic Research (CSAR) delivers innovative impacts in the aquatic sciences and education sector and has been a Centre of Excellence since 2003. CSAR have the best facilities in Europe for applied and fundamental research on aquatic ecosystems and organisms from temperate to tropical and marine to freshwater environments. CSAR will be testing the sensor technologies in controlled recirculating aquaculture system.

Professor Gethin is a mechanical engineer and the Co-founder and Co-director of the Welsh Centre for Printing and Coating. Professor Gethins research interests include powder forming with emphasis on tabletting; fundamental scientific work on high speed, high volume graphics printing processes and applied research in the field of polymer electronics with a future emphasis on biopolymers and biosensing devices.

Dr Clifford completed his PhD in the WCPC looking at the Optimisation of Aerosol Jet Deposition for the Development of Printed Electronics. This research looked at the formulation of inks specifically for use in aerosol jet deposition as well as an investigation into the effects of process parameters on print quality and electrical performance. His research interests lie in the field of digital and direct write manufacturing techniques for applications in printed electronics, semiconductor and biological applications.

Professor Garcia de Leaniz began his career in Biology at Universidad de Navarra (Pamplona), then moved to CEU (Madrid) and the University of Victoria (BC, Canada), where he obtained his BSc. This was followed by a Doctorate at the University of Aberdeen.

Carlos did a post-doc at the University of Glasgow then returned to Spain to coordinate the Atlantic Salmon Restoration Programme in Galicia and then in Cantabria (Centro Ictiologico de Arredondo).

Dr Barrento obtained a BSc in Marine Biology from the University of the Algarve (Portugal), she then went onto obtain a PhD in Animal Science from the University of Porto (Portugal).

In the past 12 years, Sara has researched sustainable aquaculture of mussels and seaweeds; supported the delivery and management of eight large European Research projects (FP6, FP7, Horizon2020, ERDF, INTERREG) and RC-UK projects; lectured in the UK, Thailand and Gibraltar.

Munster Technological University (MTU) is a multi-campus technological university and the newest in Ireland. The Mass Spectrometry Group at MTU has a long-established background in analytical chemistry, with extensive experience and capability in the areas of elemental and toxicology analysis using techniques such as separation chromatography and mass spectrometry.  The Halpin Centre for Research and Innovation undertakes maritime research for the National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI).
