Data from a multi-parameter STREAM sonde in Dungarvan showed low salinity and very low oxygen levels and as a result, these findings were investigated by the STREAM PM.

Strengths:

  • Correlation analysis between salinity, oxygen readings, and weather conditions.
  • Utilization of the weather station data to supplement the seawater analysis.
  • Presentation of the potential causes and consequences of low salinity and oxygen levels.

Areas for Improvement:

  • Inclusion of trend data to enhance the analysis.
  • Exploration of the impact of localised low salinity and oxygen.
  • Consideration of anthropogenic factors that might contribute to changes in seawater composition.
